As a Catering Assistant you will help prepare sandwiches and salads. You will also help to prepare meals, hot/cold snacks. You will also be required to carry out other general kitchen duties.
Ensuring the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and that together with the team, we are maintaining all our health and safety obligations.
Catering Assistants within the hospital have a key role in maintaining a high standard of meal provision to patients and make a valuable contribution in the wider care team that supports patients during their time in hospital. You should have good organisational and communication skills, be flexible in your approach to work whilst demonstrating an ability to work using your own initiative and work as part of a friendly dedicated team at Swanage Hospital
This post is for 14 hours per week to include Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday early evening work as well as Saturday 0900-1300 (weekend working attracts enhanced pay)
The proposed shift pattern is as follows
Wednesday 1600-1830
Thursday 1600-1830
Friday 1600-1830
Saturday 0900-1400and 1600-1900
Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
As a Catering Assistant, you will help prepare sandwiches and salads, help to prepare meals, hot/cold snacks for patients and staff. .
Washing up and catering general duties will also be part of your duties - a full and varied role that is vital to the smooth running of the hospital kitchen.
We are looking for someone with good organisational and communication skills, be flexible in your approach to work whilst demonstrating an ability to work using your own initiative and work as part of a team.
