Overview
We are seeking an experienced Coded TIG & Stick (MMA) Welder to support pipework, fabrication, and installation activities across workshop and site environments. The ideal candidate will be competent in producing high‑integrity welds on stainless and carbon steel and will preferably have experience assisting with pipefitting tasks such as preparation, alignment, and installation.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform TIG and Stick (MMA) welding on pipe and plate in accordance with approved WPS/PQRs.
• Weld pipework assemblies, including preparation, fit‑up, root, hot pass, and cap welds.
• Work with stainless steel, carbon steel, and associated alloys across various wall thicknesses.
• Read and interpret isometrics and fabrication drawings.
• Carry out material preparation including cutting, bevelling, grinding, and tack welding.
• Support fabrication and installation of pipe spools, supports, brackets, and structural components.
• Perform visual inspection and dimensional checks to ensure weld quality and tolerance compliance.
• Complete time sheets, traceability records, and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain safe working practices in line with company procedures and site regulations.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a coded TIG and/or Stick (MMA) welder.
• Strong background in pipework welding, including stainless and carbon steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience in industrial, fabrication, or construction environments.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to producing clean, consistent welds.
• Strong awareness of health & safety, including hot‑work procedures and PPE requirements.
Desirable (Not Essential)
• Pipefitting experience, including alignment, fit‑up, and installation.
• Experience with purge setups.
• Valid CSCS/CCNSG or equivalent safety passport.
• Forklift or crane operation experience.
• Experience working on shutdowns, utilities, or industrial sites.
