Summary


B24 is a 23 bedded Trauma and orthopaedic ward. B24 is a very busy rewarding ward to work on. The ward cares for patients’ pre and post operative surgery, following a fall or trauma. Due to an increase of patients having complex fractures we work closely with the multidisciplinary teams and referrals to other hospitals maybe required.

An exciting opportunity to be part of the team on B24 as a Band 2 health care assistant has become available. This post covers both days and nights on rotation.

The candidate needs to be highly motivated and enthusiastic as a team member, maintaining high standards of professional conduct.

As a member of the team you need to have good communication skills both written and verbally. Liaising with the multidisciplinary team and relatives. Be a good team member able to work closely with colleagues in sometimes difficult situations.
• Patient personal care
• Meal delivery
• Assisting with feeding
• Attending to hygiene needs
• Maintains ward cleanliness
• Ensuring all patients needs is met and supporting activities of daily living.
• Providing 1:4 care and or 1:1 care for patients with dementia or a cognitive impairment
• The post is rotational on days/nights, and will include weekend and evening work over 7 days.
