Roles and Daily Responsibilities
Conduct daily forensic acquisition and analysis of digital devices including desktops, laptops, servers, mobile phones, removable media, and network storage.
Preserve digital evidence using proper chain-of-custody procedures to maintain legal admissibility.
Examine file systems, logs, deleted files, emails, internet activity, and application data to uncover relevant evidence.
Perform malware analysis and identify indicators of compromise related to cyber incidents.
Recover deleted, hidden, or encrypted data using forensic tools and techniques.
Analyze timelines of digital activity to reconstruct user actions and system events.
Prepare clear, detailed forensic reports summarizing methods, findings, and conclusions.
Present findings in a professional and understandable manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
Support incident response activities by providing forensic insight during active investigations.
Collaborate daily with cybersecurity, legal, and management teams to align investigative outcomes with organizational objectives.
Maintain forensic tools, documentation, and evidence storage systems.
Stay updated on emerging digital forensic technologies, cybercrime trends, and legal standards.
Ensure all daily activities comply with internal policies, data protection laws, and professional ethical standards.
