ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Family Navigator, you will be a key part of the local community support network, helping families access the right services at the right time. You will work across Family Hub flagship buildings and community venues, acting as a visible, approachable presence for families and partner organisations.

This role requires regular travel across South Wiltshire and close collaborative working with schools, early years settings, community organisations, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Help families, children and young people navigate the range of services available across the Family Hub network.
Build strong partnerships with schools, early years settings, health services, and community groups.
Advocate for families to ensure they receive appropriate support and overcome barriers.
Maintain accurate, confidential and analytical records of family contact and outcomes.
Promote Family Hub services through community engagement, including social media and local events.
Support co‑production activities with families and colleagues to shape local services.
Map community resources and work with partners to strengthen local support pathways.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, health professionals and educators.
Support Family Hub Practitioners by connecting families to additional community resources.
Attend community meetings, occasionally deputising for senior navigators.
Promote volunteering opportunities to help strengthen local community resilience.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone community‑minded, proactive and passionate about helping families thrive.

You will bring:

NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field such as health, social care, family studies, youth work or community development.
Experience working with families or communities in supportive or outreach-based roles.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of partners and services.
Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, local services and the challenges families may face.
Strong organisational, problem‑solving and advocacy skills.
Empathy, cultural sensitivity and a non‑judgmental approach.
Ability to travel regularly across the service area; occasional regional or national travel may be required.
