Crynodeb
Assist in compiling evidence to demonstrate compliance with national standards, including requirements set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and contribute to the preparation of Quality Accounts or action plans to address identified gaps. Undertake the analysis, interpretation, presentation, and dissemination of audit findings, providing clear and meaningful quality data to the Consultant Midwife for feedback to Consultants and the divisional management team, highlighting any areas of concern. Contribute to the development and maintenance of relevant national databases, as required. Support the Trust Audit Lead in ensuring divisional compliance with recommendations arising from national audits, including NICE and National Service Frameworks (NSFs). Use specialist knowledge to advise and support clinical staff in the design and delivery of clinical audit and quality improvement (CA/QI) projects, as well as national performance monitoring exercises, in line with recognised best practice principles. Register national clinical audit projects and NCEPOD reviews as advised by the Consultant Midwife, liaising with Royal Colleges and professional bodies as appropriate. Work closely with the Information Department to identify patient cohorts and with the Medical Records Department to obtain case notes for audit and service evaluation projects. Provide expert guidance on audit design, appropriate sample sizes, data analysis, and implementing change based on audit outcomes.
