Position: Toolmaker

Position: permanent

Location: Minworth

Hourly rate: £18.55 inclusive of shift allowance

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week rotating shifts AM/ PM week 1 Mornings Monday to Thursday - 6.00 - 14.30, Friday 6.00 - 12.00. Week 2 Monday to Thursday 13.30 - 22.0 0 Friday - 11.00 - 17.00

We are now seeking to recruit a Toolmaker to repair and maintain of high-precision mould tools in a tool room environment for a modern plastic manufacturing company based in Minworth. The appropriate candidate would be competent in conventional milling and turning with good working knowledge of maintaining the engineering tooling used to produce components, products and assemblies.

Responsibilities:

• Bench fitting
• Manual machining using miller, lathes and surface grinders.
• Use of Precision Measuring and Inspection Equipment
• Manufacture of new tooling to engineering drawings in line with timing plans.
• Carrying out proactive maintenance on moulding tools that come from production and logging them in the system.
• Preparing moulding tools in a good condition ready for production.
• Liaise with setter’s overs issues with the mould tool.
• Investigate issues to find root causes passing information back to the design department and management so issues can be avoided in future.
• Maintains tooling to the correct standards.
• Maintain working area to a high standard. Working to 5S’s

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Manual machining using miller, lathes and surface grinders.
• Ability to use measuring tools
• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in toolmaking/precision engineering
