What you'll be doing;

• Manual repacking of chemical wastes, operation of pumps and compactors, high-hazard chemical handling
  
• Packaging, labelling and provision of paperwork to WM3/ADR regulations
  
• Technical assessments of waste
  
• Waste acceptance process including non-conformance reporting, load integrity checks and permit compliance
  
• Compatibility testing, production of drum bulking blends, neutralisation of weak acid/alkali materials
  
• Laboratory testing: gas chromatography, titrations, pH and water analysis, halogen and CV testing
  
• Produce job specific risk assessments/Permits to Work
  

What we're looking for;

• HNC/HND or higher educated in Chemistry (or relevant Science) - essential
  
• Good knowledge of basic chemical hazards, with accurate on-the-spot assessment of risks and possible adverse reactions arising from site activities
  
• Health and safety minded, COSHH/IOSH desirable
  
• Experience in the waste management industry or chemical industry is desirable
  
• Willing to get 'hands-on', with work taking place outside in the open air in all weather conditions
  
• Able to work on-site (no remote or hybrid work available)
