About the Role
Steelhaus Fabrications Ltd is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our busy fabrication workshop. This is a hands‑on role supporting all areas of production, ensuring smooth operations and helping the team meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with general duties across the shop floor
Support laser, press brake, welding and fabrication teams as required
Load and unload materials (manual handling involved)
Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe
Operate basic workshop equipment (training provided)
Move parts between stations and prepare items for the next process
Follow instructions and work to production plans
Perform basic quality checks on workpieces
Requirements
✔ Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (preferred but not essential)
✔ Good practical skills and willingness to learn
✔ Strong work ethic and positive attitude
✔ Ability to follow instructions and work safely
✔ Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced workshop
✔ Comfortable with manual handling
Desirable
Forklift licence
Experience in steel fabrication
Familiarity with power tools or machinery
Previous warehouse/operative experience
