Job Title: Personal Assistant (Female) – Supporting Independence – 16 core hours per/week + additional hours to be worked flexibly at a time that suits both parties.
Location: Rural, BS30
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £15 per/hour - paid via PAYE
We are seeking a friendly, active, and supportive Female Personal Assistant to work with a young lady who loves to keep busy, promoting her independence and supporting her engagement in a wide range of community activities.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on role mostly supporting the client to access the community, as well as some support in the family home. Core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the client to access the community independently, including shopping, swimming, dance, group sports, cafés, parks, cycling, amongst other activities.
- Occasional domestic support, including overseeing cooking, shopping and gardening.
- Supporting the client to look after her family pets (3 cats and 2 dogs).
- Supporting independence in personal care (mostly oversight).
- Ensuring safety and always understanding safeguarding principles.
- Occasional evening or weekend support as needed.
- Female applicant only, due to occasional personal care
- Must hold a full UK driving license, due to rural location and be confident driving independently.
- The PA must be a Non-smoker.
- DBS check required (can be funded by the employer).
- Understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Supportive, flexible, and understanding approach to communication
- A willingness to undertake Makaton training.
- Able to support the client both in the home and independently in the community.
- Monday: 10:00 – 18:00 (Core hours)
- Wednesday: 09:30 – 17:30 (Core hours)
- Occasional weekends (1–2 per month)
- Occasional evenings as required
- There is no mandatory COVID vaccine, except in the event of an outbreak.
- The client enjoys a rich variety of community and home-based activities, so a friendly, active, and adaptable personality is essential.
- The clients mum will be able to provide initial guidance and training.
- Due to the rural location and level of driving needed, mileage will be reimbursed for all trips out of the home.
