Newhouse Academy has a new and exciting opportunity for a Head of Department - Geography.

We are looking for an inspiring and passionate Head of Geography who will join us on our journey and help take Geography to the next level.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate, skilled and inspirational leader to make a substantial contribution to the next stages in our improvement journey.

We are looking for someone who;

• Is one of ‘Our People’
• Holds qualified teacher status, with Geography as a specialism
• Has a proven track record of driving high standards so that students succeed at Key stage 3 and 4
• Has the ability or passion to inspire, coach and guide colleagues to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
• Is a committed team-player who can inspire others to raise the aspirations of students through an exciting and ambitious curriculum.
• Has values in line with the academy’s priorities of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect.

Hours: Full time equivalent

Salary: MPS / UPS plus TLR 2b5,866

Contract type: Permanent

Start date: 1st May 2026 - negotiable for the right candidate
