Ready to impact a better future?As a Recovery and Wellbeing Coordinator working closely with the Head of Health & Wellbeing at HMP Fosse Way, you’ll lead and govern peer‑led recovery services that support people to build positive futures. You’ll shape safe, structured, purpose‑driven programmes that have a real impact on rehabilitation and wellbeing across the prison
This role plays a key part in embedding a recovery‑focused culture. You’ll bring structure, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to our peer‑led wellbeing initiatives. By working closely with colleagues, external partners, and specialist providers, you’ll help create an environment that promotes growth, stability, and meaningful change.
What you’ll do as a Recovery and Wellbeing CoordinatorYou’ll be entrusted to:
- Oversee governance of all peer‑led recovery and wellbeing activities within the prison.
- Facilitate peer attendance at facilitator training courses
- Ensure safe, effective, and compliant delivery of peer led activities
- Drive continuous improvement and build partnerships with external organisations.
- Support implementation of the prison Drug Strategy in collaboration with the Head of Health and Wellbeing.
- Ensure peer‑led initiatives meet purposeful activity targets and maintain full attendance.
- Align peer-led activity with clinical pathways through collaboration with psychosocial and healthcare teams.
- Monitor, report, and evaluate outcomes against strategic objectives.
- Contribute to safeguarding, governance compliance, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Develop an annual purposeful activity delivery plan that is peer‑led and needs‑assessed.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop peer workers using competency frameworks.

- Experience of working in a custodial environment or lived experience
- Strong organisational, communication, and partnership‑working skills.
- The ability to manage safeguarding and quality assurance processes.
- Resilience and adaptability in a challenging operational setting.
- The ability to listen, build rapport, and motivate others.
- Knowledge of mental health, substance misuse, and recovery approaches.
- Motivation to support individuals on their recovery journey.
- Strong personal boundaries, reliability, and punctuality.
Vetting and checks:An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
