Summary

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Diss, Norfolk

Shift: Bespoke 4-on/4-off Rotation (Days & Nights)

Salary: £54,000

The Opportunity

Are you an electrically qualified engineer looking for a role that offers a distinct, predictable rhythm? We are representing a leading Food specialist based near Diss. They are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their site team, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of high-volume processing equipment.

The Shift Pattern

This role operates on a specific rotation designed to provide extended periods of downtime between blocks of work:

  • 4 Days on → 4 Days off

  • 4 Days on → 4 Days off

  • 4 Nights on → 4 Nights off

  • 4 Nights on → 4 Nights off

  • (Cycle repeats back to Days)

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Maintenance: Lead the fault-finding, repair, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a variety of industrial equipment, including conveyors, kilns, and automated processing machinery.

  • Breakdown Response: Act as the technical lead for electrical failures to minimize downtime.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance machine reliability and safety standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the wider engineering team to ensure seamless handovers between shifts.

What We Are Looking For
  • Qualified Electrician: You must hold a relevant electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent).

  • Industrial Experience: Previous experience in a heavy industrial, FMCG, or manufacturing environment is essential.

  • The "Food" Factor: Experience within food manufacturing or malting is a significant advantage, but not a dealbreaker if you have strong transferable industrial skills.

  • Problem Solvers: Someone who enjoys "getting under the hood" of complex electrical systems and PLC-controlled hardware.

Why Apply?

This is a chance to work for a stable, long-standing company that is a pillar of the local agricultural industry. You'll be working with a team that values autonomy and technical expertise.
