Contract Data Architect leading Snowflake data platform design while modernising BI across SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
Your new company
We are a growing, technology‑driven organisation delivering essential services to customers across the UK. As we continue our digital and data transformation, we are modernising the way we collect, structure and use information so that it is accurate, consistent and trusted across the business. Data underpins how we operate, support customers, optimise performance and plan for the future. We are entering an important phase of maturing our data platform, improving data quality and strengthening our reporting and analytics capabilities. To support this work, we are recruiting a Data Architect who will help design and deliver the next generation of our data environment.
Your new role
You will design and implement the core structures, models and pipelines that ensure information is reliable, well‑organised and ready for reporting and analytics. You will help shape our Snowflake environment, but with a balanced focus on traditional BI technologies such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, ensuring that legacy systems and modern cloud components work together effectively. You will define data models, dimensional structures and integration patterns that support operational reporting, dashboards and analytical workloads. You will work closely with business teams to understand data requirements, translate them into robust technical designs and ensure that data flows are accurate, efficient and well‑documented. You will support data migrations, system integrations and the uplift of existing BI solutions, ensuring that data quality, governance and performance remain central to every change. Your work will influence how confidently teams use data, how well systems integrate and how effectively the organisation makes decisions.
What you'll need to succeed
You bring strong experience in data architecture, data modelling and BI engineering within a medium or large organisation. You have hands‑on expertise with SQL Server technologies including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, and you are comfortable designing and maintaining data warehouses, ETL processes and reporting structures. You have experience with Snowflake or another cloud data platform, and you understand how to design pipelines, schemas and data flows that bridge on‑premise and cloud environments. You are confident working with SQL, dimensional modelling, metadata, lineage and data governance principles. You can translate business requirements into clear technical designs and communicate complex concepts in a way that is accessible to non‑technical colleagues. Experience with Power BI, data migration projects and modern ELT tools (such as DBT) is highly desirable. Above all, you bring clarity, collaboration, a structured approach and a strong sense of ownership over data quality and architecture.
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact in an organisation with a clear mission and strong values. You will play a key role in shaping the data architecture that the organisation will rely on for years to come, influencing how we model, integrate and govern information across systems and teams. You will join a supportive, forward‑thinking environment where learning, improvement and innovation are encouraged. You will have the chance to work across both modern cloud technologies and established BI platforms, contributing to a balanced and pragmatic data transformation.
What you need to do now
If you are ready to design robust data architectures, strengthen our BI foundations and help shape the future of data within a growing organisation, click 'apply' to submit your CV and begin a confidential conversation.
