Hours: 22.5, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
The maternity team are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Ward Clerk in the Antenatal Clinic.
You will need to be able to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload in what can be a fast paced, pressurised environment. You should be self-motivated, have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own as well as part of a busy team.
The successful candidate will be confident in using computer systems such as microsoft excel. Training will be provided to use the Trusts electronic patient records system.

• Greet all visitors and telephone enquiries to the maternity unit in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner.
• The undertaking of general organisation of paperwork and notes within the maternity unit to ensure an organised department. This will includeEDM, any loose filing must have a service user identification label on it and filed into the folder correctly.
• To answer the telephone, taking and delivering messages in an appropriate and helpful manner.
• General office duties as required for the clinical area.
• To liaise with staff from other departments in an effective manner to include the bed manager/medical records/divisional bleep holders as requested.
• Communicates messages effectively to service users, relatives and staff
• Management of outpatient’s appointments as required. This will include arranging appointment and on occasions cancelling future appointments where someone has birthed.
• Carry out procedures via the Trusts IT systems for the admission, transfer and discharge of service users.
• Electronic data entry onto Trust IT systems as required and requested.
