An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Adult Social Care Client Financial Affairs Team as a Financial Assessment Officer on apart-time basis. This role will suit someone who is compassionate, organised, confident with financial information, and committed to supporting vulnerable people to manage their financial affairs safely and fairly.

Every day, you will help adults transitioning into permanent residential or nursing care to understand what financial support they are entitled to. You’ll ensure their assessments are completed accurately, their benefits are maximised, and that they are protected if they are unable to manage their own money.

You will also play a key part in safeguarding client funds through:Ensuring their financial assessments when entering care are processed fairly and accurately.

Part‑time (hours flexible)

Monday to Friday

Hybrid working once trained

Core hours: 08:30–16:30



In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

Complete financial assessments for people entering long‑term residential or nursing care.

Provide guidance on welfare benefits and support clients with benefit claims.

Assist with referrals for appointee-ship and deputyship where clients cannot manage their own finances.

Audit Direct Payment accounts to ensure correct use of funds and compliance.

Order cash for clients under appointee-ship while preparing for the rollout of prepaid card systems.

Communicate sensitively with service users, families, advocates, and professionals.

Apply tact, empathy, and diplomacy when discussing financial matters with vulnerable individuals.

Prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and ensure exceptional accuracy

Help to safeguard vulnerable clients against mismanagement of funds or fraud
