College Minibus Driver
Hours: Part Time (30 Hours per week), Term Time Only (36 weeks per year)
Duration: Temporary until June 2026
Salary: £25,456 1 FTE (£16,988 pro-rata) per annum + benefits
Location: Multi-site position; Rotherham, Dearne and North Notts Colleges, based within South Yorkshire and North NottinghamshireThe Role
The driver fulfils a key role, learners are transported between College locations within the RNN group.
We looking for minibus drivers to join our Colleges’ Support Teams. As a member of our Support Team, you will work closely with other support staff, teaching assistants and teachers to drive our minibuses transporting young people to college, home, between sites and support young people on trips and visits into the community.
Main duties would include (but are not limited to): To transport young people in accordance with Group policies, using any Group owned or hired vehicles as may be required. (This could be between colleges and around communities) To ensure the Groups vehicles are kept roadworthy through regular and routine maintenance, compliance checks, record keeping and reporting faults in a timely manner as required. To assist the Estates team with the coordination of the fleet bookings system. To ensure faults are rectified in a timely manner through liaison with the Estates team. To undertake daily housekeeping routines associated with the role which includes ensuring vehicles are kept clean and tidy.
You will… Have experience driving small – medium vans and/or minibuses Have completed MIDAS Minibus Driver Training (or be willing to undertake) and hold a Full UK D1 driving licence (no Endorsements), held for over 2 years Be willing to undertake any training connected with the post including Safeguarding, First Aid at Work & a Drivers medical Work in a professional and confidential manner with a high degree of integrity Be highly flexible and able to respond to quick changes in demands upon you including responding to urgent jobs and supporting colleagues across the Group’s Support Teams
Department Info You will be expected to act with a degree of autonomy on a day-to-day basis, whilst reporting to your line manager. You will work co-operatively with colleagues across all College Campuses and premises.
