Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster
You'll play a vital role in delivering safe, high quality fire fighting training, acting as Safety Officer and supporting training delivery within a live fire fighting facility. This hands on role involves operating training systems, facilitating exercises, and working closely with colleagues to ensure the highest safety and learning standards for every student. It's a physically demanding position, working in challenging environments - including wet conditions and extreme temperatures - while wearing Breathing Apparatus and fire retardant PPE.
What you'll be doing
• Carrying out both Theoretical and Practical Maritime Firefighting and Safety training from basic to advanced
• Carrying out the role of Safety Officer
• Completing relevant training operational documentation, recording and reporting all deficiencies occurring during training.
• Ensuring all training equipment and classrooms are ready for use and then shut down in accordance with procedure
• Be responsible for the Health and Safety of all personnel within the training facilities when conducting training operations.
• Ensuring safe operation of training facilities (SSOW).
• Ensuring that the equipment and materials are fit for purpose, maintained, cleaned and in date for safe operation.
What we're looking for:
Essential:
• Proven experience within the Maritime/Firefighting Industry.
• First Aid at Work Qualified or equivalent would be beneficial
• Any teaching experience/qualifications would be beneficial
• Demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
• IOSH Working Safely
• Valid UK Driving License
• Must be able to wear firefighting/breathing apparatus, lift breathing apparatus and climb ladders
