Summary




The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of the safeguarding adults’ at-risk agenda at the North Middlesex University Health Unit, working closely and collaboratively with the other safeguarding adult professionals across RFL, to ensure a high-quality service that complies with the statutory requirements to keep service users safe from neglect and abuse.



· Provide professional support and highly specialised advice to all staff and partner agencies in relation to safeguarding matters.



· Safeguarding Adult Lead nurse will act as a resource, provide a high level of input to the service and provide professional leadership for both corporate and operational staff, trainees and volunteers in Safeguarding Adults at Risk within the North Middlesex University Health Unit, and working collaboratively with the wider Royal Free London NHS Trust.

· Have oversight of the arrangements to safeguarding adults in line with the Care Act 2014, including supporting the completion of the annual Safeguarding Adult self-assessment framework.

· Provide expertise by being an active participant in the internal integrated safeguarding committee, attendance at local borough Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) and their sub-committees as required.

· To contribute to statutory reviews including Domestic Homicide Reviews, Safeguarding Adult Reviews and other reviews as relevant.

· Work with the Trust and the local authority in providing expert health advice as part of Care Act (2014) Section 42 enquiries.

· Have managerial responsibilities for the Adult Safeguarding Advisor post and the Adult safeguarding administrator.

· To ensure that the safeguarding team are providing an effective and high-quality service.

· To provide expert up to date advice, training and supervision to professionals working with adults on issues relating to the protection and safeguarding of adults at risk.

· To possess an in-depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (LPS from 2022), and other relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
