A part-time (27 hrs) Scheme Support Officer in supported housing services in Carmarthenshire. You will be required to work on a 7-week rolling rota, which includes days and waking nights, and you must have weekend availability.

About the role

This is a Scheme Support Officer role based in our Supported accommodation service, Furnace Banc, Carmarthenshire. Working in a team, you will provide support to a range of individuals who are experiencing homelessness and have been involved in the criminal justice system and offending behaviour.

You will inspire, challenge and enable the people who access our services to lead successful and independent lives. We need you to work flexibly as part of the team to develop, implement and review high-quality person-centred support plans based on individual needs, preferences and aspirations.

Day to day duties:

Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management, health, and wellbeing
Supporting the client according to the support plan specifically tailored to each client
Welfare checks
Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
Reception duties
Dealing with challenging behaviours and responding to arising needs
This challenging but rewarding role involves providing intensive support to individuals with complex needs, including mental health and substance misuse.

You will be a first point of contact and positive role model, helping people transition into independent living. This role is perfect if you are someone who flexible, motivated, and passionate about making a difference, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Skills and Experience Needed

A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
Have knowledge of housing related support and the benefits system
Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations

Pay and Pensions -

£24,531.00 FTE (£12.75 per hour)

Time off and Flexibility -

26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days’ annual leave.
