Crynodeb
The Radiology Department operates a 24-hour service, and this role supports a 7-day service. You will work flexibly across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and satellite sites, covering rotational shifts Monday to Sunday between 8.00am8.00pm, adapting to service needs as required. As a Radiology Support Worker Higher Level, you will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while providing day-to-day supervisory support to Radiology Support Workers. You will assist senior staff with coordinating service cover, maintaining workflow, and responding to operational pressures within a busy clinical environment. You will provide hands-on clinical and practical support across imaging modalities, including preparing examination rooms, assisting during diagnostic and interventional procedures, and supporting patients before, during and after examinations. This includes undertaking delegated clinical duties such as baseline observations, phlebotomy, cannulation and pregnancy testing when competent, and escalating concerns appropriately. You will ensure high standards of infection prevention, equipment safety and stock control, completing daily checks of emergency equipment and maintaining accurate documentation. Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage interruptions, and a flexible approach are essential to support efficient service delivery and a positive patient experience.
