Overview Harbourside Health Centre is recruiting a 4-session (2-day) Salaried General Practitioner with an intended start date of May 2026 (flexible by agreement). The post-holder will work as part of a supportive, digitally progressive primary care team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. The role is structured to promote sustainable workload, protected clinical time and efficient systems of working. The post-holder will report to the Lead GP and Practice Manager. Clinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary medical care to registered and temporary patients Undertake face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations Participate in the agreed practice rota, including duty sessions within contracted hours Assess, diagnose, treat and manage a broad range of medical conditions Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in line with local and national guidance Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records Administrative Responsibilities Review and action laboratory results, correspondence and electronic workflow tasks within allocated sessional time Complete referrals, medical reports and other clinical documentation as required Contribute to the safe and efficient management of clinical workload Administrative time is built into sessional structure. Clinical Governance & Professional Standards Participate in clinical governance activities including audit, significant event analysis and quality improvement Comply with GMC Good Medical Practice Maintain inclusion on the NHS Wales Performers List Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation Support a culture of learning, safety and continuous improvement Multidisciplinary Working The post-holder will work collaboratively with: 9 GPs 2 Practice Nurses 2 Healthcare Assistants Practice Manager and Deputy Practice Manager Experienced administrative and reception team We operate across two sites and provide structured support to clinicians. Digital & Systems Infrastructure The Practice actively uses digital systems to protect GP time and reduce administrative burden, including: Accurx and AskMyGP with structured preset messaging Workflow-based document and correspondence management AI-assisted clinical transcription (Heidi AI) Cluster Paramedic support for home visits The aim is to maximise clinical focus and minimise unnecessary administrative workload. Working Pattern 4 sessions per week (typically over 2 days) No out-of-hours requirement Participation in practice rota within contracted hours Professional Development 6 weeks annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata) 1 week study leave (pro rata) with CPD funding Protected Learning Time supported within contracted time NHS Pension (Wales) Contract aligned with BMA Model Salaried GP Contract
