Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Services

£28,000 – £35,000+ sleep-ins
Contract Type:
Full time – (Days, Evenings, Weekends, Bank Holidays)
Requirements
Must be a driver
Must have the right to live and work in the UK
Must be able to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends
Previous experience working with children or in a residential care setting is desirable
Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held)
About the role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing consistent, high-quality care in a children’s residential setting. You’ll help create a safe, stable, and supportive home environment that enables young people to thrive emotionally, socially, and practically.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting children with daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
Building positive relationships and acting as a key worker
Encouraging engagement in education, activities, and community life
Attending appointments and supporting young people in developing independence
Managing challenging behaviours and responding effectively in crisis situations (training provided)
Promoting safeguarding and emotional wellbeing at all times

Skills
6–12 months’ experience in a care environment (children or adults)

Willing to actively participate in activities with children in and outside the home
