The Cancer Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital is a leading specialist service providing comprehensive cancer care across a wide range of tumour sites, serving both the local population and patients referred nationally for highly specialised treatments. The department brings together multidisciplinary clinical teams, cutting-edge diagnostics, and advanced treatment facilities, underpinned by a strong commitment to research, innovation, and digital transformation. As part of Barts Health NHS Trust, one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, the Cancer Centre plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and driving improvements in outcomes, experience, and operational performance.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Information Systems Manager to join the Cancer Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. This key role will lead the development, management, and optimisation of clinical information systems that support cancer services, ensuring high-quality data, robust reporting, and safe, efficient patient treatment.
You will work closely with clinical teams, operational managers, information team and informatics to ensure that systems meet service needs, support patient pathways, and enable performance monitoring, service improvement, and regulatory reporting.
The main objective of the Clinical Information System Manager will be to support and maintain the Clinical Information System on a day-to-day basis, ensuring high availability of this critical system, ensuring the Trust’s ICT best practices are followed.
As a member of the cancer services team, the post holder will:
· Ensure the availability of Clinical Information Systems to users, providing user account management and training support.
· Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure system requirements including issues and upgrades management are met.
· Assist the General Manager and Service Lead Pharmacist for Cancer in promoting high quality, safe prescribing to Cancer patients at Bart’s Health.
· Provide quality data reports for local and national evaluation.
· Provide professional support to the Cancer speciality.
Key Requirements of the Person Specification:
· IT degree or equivalent experience
· Experience of working with IT systems management
· Experience of Application first and second line support
· Grade A-C GCSE in Maths and English
