Overview
We’re seeking a reliable and proactive Catering Assistant to join our catering team in Slough (SL1 4LG). In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of our Costa Coffee bar, assist with food preparation, and deliver a consistently high level of customer service. You’ll be an important part of the team, helping to maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and hospitality across the catering department.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Front-of-House
- Serve customers at the Costa Coffee bar, preparing and presenting hot and cold beverages to brand standards
- Provide warm, efficient, and professional service always
- Operate the tills, handle payments, and assist customers with queries
- Support the general running of the shop, ensuring displays are well‑stocked and visually appealing
- Assist with Hospitality delivery’s
- Assist with serving food in the restaurant and stocking up
Food Preparation
- Prepare sandwiches, wraps, and grab‑and‑go items following food safety guidelines
- Assist with basic food production and replenishment throughout the day
- Ensure all food is presented to a high standard and within required timeframes
Back-of-House Support
- Assist with plate wash and general kitchen duties
- Maintain cleanliness across all working areas, including counters, equipment, and seating areas
- Follow all hygiene, health, and safety procedures
Teamwork & Operations
- Work collaboratively with catering colleagues to ensure smooth service
- Support stock rotation and deliveries when required
- Contribute to a positive, efficient, and customer‑focused environment
Skills & Qualities

- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided)
