This is an exciting to post to work in the Communications Team at axess sexual health. The team is responsible for:
• Promoting the service across 5 regional areas
• Sharing key public health messages to a diverse audiences
• Delivering national and local campaigns
• Maintaining the axess website
• Informing staff and stakeholders of service improvements
• Media enquiries and relations
• Design and maintaining brand guidelines.
• To provide active and efficient support to the Sexual Health Communications and Marketing Team.
• To assist the Sexual Health Communications and Marketing Department to deliver its objectives.
• To improve and enhance the sexual health service’s internal and external communications function by supporting timely and effective communications.
• To take a lead role in internal communications.

• Lead on the administrative and planning activity for the efficient and effective operation of the Sexual Health Communications and Marketing team.
• Deal with general queries from Sexual Health staff in all regions, and at times members of the public via the service’s social media accounts, directing them to the appropriate channel.
• Prioritise workload by assessing multiple and urgent work requests with varying deadlines to ensure personal deadlines and those of the team are met.
• Support the further development of communications tools such as the intranet, website and social media.
• Produce and disseminate written communications to internal and external audiences. This includes sexual health newsletters, bulletins, the website, intranet, leaflets and posters. This will involve researching content, interviewing staff, drafting and editing copy, seeking the necessary approvals, proofreading and, where necessary, taking photographs.
• Support the further development of communications tools such as the intranet, website and social media.
• Act as a point of contact for the media, receiving enquiries and ensuring they are prioritised, logged and dealt with according to office procedures.
• Take the lead for monitoring and producing a regular round-up media coverage relating to the Sexual Health service.
• Work with the senior communications officers/communications and marketing officer to maintain the press cuttings library, contact databases, distribution lists and other communications administrative systems.
• Support events such as the annual general meeting, VIP visits, open days, corporate events and public meetings.
• Support the team when the Trust/sexual health service is dealing with adverse events and major incidents.
• Update noticeboards with patient and staff information and devise a plan to improve the use of noticeboards in key areas.
• Work on specific projects in agreement with the Service Coorindator.
• Carry out a range of administration duties including typing, photocopying, filing and mailshots.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times and comply with the Data Protection Act when handling sensitive and personal information, e.g. through general enquiry emails or media enquiries.
• Support the continuous improvement of the communications service, adhering to and supporting the improvement of office systems.
• Work in a matrix style to ensure cross-cover across the team.
