We are looking for a full time, experienced Mechanic to join our team, to assist with the maintenance of our fleet of over 100 Mini Buses, mainly comprising of Renault Master / Vauxhall Movano vans that have been converted for special needs transport. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive person to grow within an expanding business, & to work with a great team.
Some out of hours working may be required to cover breakdowns / recovery, these events are not common and are shared between our team - extras are paid as overtime.
Company vehicle provided for break down purposes.
Working hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Friday totaling 40 hours (+ occasional overtime)
Holidays: Statutory Allowance
Rates of Pay: Negotiable, depending on skills and experience
Duties: Carry out Maintenance to Technical Specification and DVSA standards, Servicing vehicles, M.O.T preparation, Clutches, Timing Chains/ Timing Belts, Engine Work e.g. Head Gaskets/Engine rebuilds, Diagnostics & Rectification of electrical and mechanical faults, Completing of Paperwork e.g. Job cards and Inspection Paperwork, Maintaining a clean work environment.
Adhering to Health and Safety / Company Polices
Skills, experience and attributes: NVQ Level 3 In Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
3 years time served experience minimum
Full UK Drivers Licence essential
Good communication skills
Ability to multi task, and work on own initiative
Ability to follow and carry out instructions
MIG Welding / fabrication experience is an advantage but not essential
Ability to Drive 7.5 ton Recovery truck is an Advantage but not essential
