This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start a career in audit and accounts. You will be part of a collaborative team, gaining hands-on experience and responsibilities early on. Key Responsibilities
Prepare statutory accounts using accounting software and manual records.
Analyse client financial data, including bank statements.
Conduct stock-taking at client sites and assist with audit assignments.
Learn how to prepare corporation tax computations.
Use software such as Xero, CCH accounts production, and CaseWare audit.
Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in person.
Engage in effective internal communication to support smooth workflow and knowledge sharing across the team.
Work collaboratively within the audit and accounts team, contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues to deliver high‐quality work.
Training
Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3 - AAT
This Level 3 programme builds on the foundations for entry level talent to support growth within an Accountancy and Finance function.
Employees on this apprenticeship will ensure an Accountancy and Finance practice performs in the most effective way. It includes the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and provides the opportunity for them to support the business with essential skills and behaviours to drive results.
You will learn how to prepare financial statements for Sole Traders and Partnerships, the importance of management accounting information, and how to prepare VAT returns. You’ll develop the technical skills to start, or progress, your career in accountancy and this will allow you to continue with your studies onto Level 4.
To pass this level you will need to study the following four units:
Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS).
Management Accounting Techniques (MATS).
Tax Processes for Business (TPFB).
Business Awareness (BUAW).
You will also be required to complete an End Point Assessment (EPA), which will include a synoptic assessment and discussion with supporting portfolio.
Qualifications required
Minimum 120 UCAS points (or 300 UCAS points for exams before 2017) or equivalent.
GCSEs: Minimum Grade 6 in Maths and English Language and Grade 4 in all other subjects (or B in Maths and English Language and C in all other subjects for exams before 2017) or equivalent.
Right to work in the UK.
Skills required
IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
Experience with bookkeeping or accounting software is preferrable, but not essential.
Prospects
As an Audit & Accounts Assistant, you’ll
start by studying towards your AAT Level 3 qualification, with full
support to progress onto the ICAEW ACA qualification to become a
Chartered Accountant.

Duration 18 Months
