Role: Trainee Field Technician
FJA are recruiting for Trainee Field Technician a on behalf of a UK leader in water efficiency and demand management. The company works with major water utilities and a wide range of commercial clients, delivering nationwide water demand management services.

The Trainee Field Technician Role:
You’ll join the Field Services Team as a Water Quality Flushing Technician, gaining hands on experience with clean water networks. Working across the Wessex Water region—mainly Taunton and Yeovil—you’ll help deliver flushing programmes that reduce discolouration issues and improve network performance. During drought periods, you may support additional water network activities.
Trainee Field Technician Main Duties:
• Deliver planned mains flushing with the Wessex Water team
• Systematically flush clean water mains to schedule
• Work to water hygiene and health & safety standards
• Operate valves and hydrants using calm network principles
• Monitor turbidity, chlorine, flow rates and volumes
• Apply pollution prevention measures throughout operations
Trainee Field Technician Requirements:
• Organised, accurate, and customer focused
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual
• Knowledge of clean water networks (desirable)
• Strong digital skills, especially Excel
• Team player with good communication and knowledge sharing mindset
• Self motivated with strong attention to detail
• Able to work outdoors in all weather, including nights
• Full driving licence required
