Support Practitioner – Seaboard
“They helped me through thick and thin. From when I came out of the hospital… they were there for me.” – Person Supported by Carr Gomm
As a Support Practitioner in our Seaboard Care at Home service, you’ll play a vital role in supporting people to live well in their own homes and remain connected to their local community. It’s a rewarding role, where every day you help people maintain independence, wellbeing, and routines that matter to them.
About Us
Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity. Our Care at Home service in Seaboard supports people to live well in their own homes. We deliver person-centred support based on each person’s individual support plan. This often includes meal preparation, medication administration, and personal care, as well as other practical support to help people maintain independence and quality of life.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for people who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to making a real difference in their community. Full training is provided and, as a permanent support practitioner, you will be supported to achieve an SVQ in Health and Social Care while you work. This role is open to both drivers and non-drivers, as travel requirements vary depending on the location of the people you support.
You will:
Support people with daily activities, including meals, medication, and personal care
Build strong, trusting relationships with people and their families
We are looking for candidates who are flexible to work a variety of shift patterns, supporting people when they need it, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Example shift pattern: 7am – 3pm or 3pm –9pm
Can’t commit to part-time hours (16-30 per week)? We have Relief Support Practitioner opportunities available.
Why Join Carr Gomm
You will be part of a supportive, forward-thinking organisation that invests in its people. You will have opportunities to shape how work is done through specialist working groups and the Futures innovation programme, within an organisation that proudly holds the LGBT Charter for inclusion.
As a permanent Support Practitioner, you will also receive:
35 days holiday per year, rising to 40 days with service
Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and sick leave
A Defined Contribution pension scheme, with incremental employer contributions
Access to the Carr Gomm App, including free physiotherapy, health coaching, and counselling
A free Blue Light Card, giving access to thousands of discounts
Credit union membership
Cycle to Work scheme, and more
