Deputy Manager – Childcare Setting (Outdoor Focus)

Country House Childcare - Flintshire
40 hours per week (4 days) between the hours 7.45am-6pm
Welsh language skills an advantage

We are seeking a motivated and caring Deputy Manager to join our ever expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years professional who enjoys leadership and has a genuine passion for outdoor education and outdoor play.

Working under the Manager, and alongside our Assistant Managers, you will support the effective day-to-day running of the setting, helping to maintain high standards of care, education, and wellbeing for children, families, and staff.

About Our Setting

Country House Childcare is a relatively new setting, having opened in January 2025. We place a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, nature-based play, and child-led experiences. We believe time outdoors is essential to children’s development and is embedded throughout our curriculum and daily practice.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Manager in the leadership and management of the setting
Provide day-to-day guidance, supervision, and support to staff
Deputise for the Manager when required
Ensure compliance with CIW, safeguarding, and Welsh childcare regulations
Support high-quality planning and delivery of play-based and outdoor learning
Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and professionals
Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
About You

The successful candidate will:

Hold a relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or above (Level 4/5 desirable)
Have experience in a senior or leadership role within an early years setting
Demonstrate a strong understanding of CIW requirements and safeguarding
Have a genuine enthusiasm for outdoor play and learning
Be confident, approachable, and supportive as a leader
Have excellent communication and organisational skills
Hold a full valid driving licence to support transportation requirements when necessary
Welsh language skills are an advantage, but not essential
