Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (45 hours per week)
Rate: £27.00 per hour
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civils Operative to support works on a live transmission infrastructure project. This role will primarily function as a Site Storeman, ensuring the effective control, movement, and management of materials and equipment within a high-voltage substation environment. This is a hands-on position suited to individuals familiar with National Grid-regulated sites and associated compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage on-site stores, including receiving, checking, and issuing materials.
- Maintain accurate stock records and ensure proper storage procedures are followed.
- Operate a telehandler for the safe movement of materials and equipment.
- Support site teams with logistics and coordination of deliveries.
- Ensure all activities comply with site safety rules and project procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within storage and welfare areas.
- Assist supervisors with general site support duties as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid NG Persons certification (mandatory).
- Proven experience working as a Storeman on utility, infrastructure, or substation projects.
- Telehandler licence (in date and appropriate for site use).
- Understanding of working within controlled high-voltage environments.
- Full, compliant PPE available prior to mobilisation.
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and material control processes.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience on transmission or distribution projects.
- Familiarity with material management systems and site logistics coordination.
Additional Information:
- Candidates must meet all certification and access requirements-applications that do not meet the essential criteria cannot be considered.
- This role is full-time for the duration of the project and offers consistent weekly hours.
