Hours: Full Time
Accountable to: Senior Vice Principal

Lead, inspire and shape an ambitious Science department in a rapidly improving school.
Leeds City Academy is a vibrant, values‑driven community that has undergone a period of significant transformation. The December 2024 Ofsted inspection praised the Academy as a happy, inclusive school where pupils thrive, highlighting the strength of relationships, the dedication of staff, and the positive, respectful culture felt across the community.
Inspectors also described how pupils feel proud to belong, responding impressively to high expectations and benefitting from exceptional support — especially those who join mid‑year or use English as an additional language. They noted that the improved quality of education and the enhancements to the learning environment have contributed to a school on a strong upward trajectory.
A Science Department with Strong Momentum
The Science department has made notable progress in curriculum structure, teaching quality and student engagement. With an ambitious curriculum in place across the Academy, inspectors affirmed that students increasingly recall learning well, apply knowledge confidently, and benefit from curriculum design that builds knowledge effectively over time.
This is an exciting moment for a committed, innovative leader to join a Science team that is ready to take its next leap forward.
