Your New Company
You'll be joining a growing, award‑winning organisation operating within the technical services space. With continued expansion and a strong pipeline of projects across the UK and internationally, the business is investing in its people function and offering an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to develop their career in a supportive, fast‑paced environment.
You'll be part of a small, friendly and down‑to‑earth HR team, working closely with an experienced HR Manager and a dedicated HR Assistant, who oversees administrative tasks. This structure gives you the space to focus on advisory work while still being part of a collaborative, supportive environment.
Your New Role
As HR Advisor, you'll play a key role in delivering a broad generalist service across the organisation, to both office and field-based employees. This is a hands‑on role where you'll act as a first point of contact for managers and employees, providing best‑practice advice and ensuring the smooth running of HR operations, ER, Recruitment and Project & Policy Work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long‑term home in HR. The organisation is flexible on background and open to those with 1-2 years' advisory experience who are ready to take the next step.
The role is based in Chadderton with occasional travel to the Manchester office, so access to a car is required.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as the key point of contact for managers, providing advice on disciplinary, capability and absence management
- Writing and updating HR policies to ensure alignment with current legislation
- Advising line managers and staff on HR policies, best practice and employment law matters
- Supporting day‑to‑day operational and administrative HR tasks
- Managing the recruitment, onboarding and induction lifecycle
- Coaching and training management
- Maintaining absence data and producing reports to support payroll processes
- Management of the HRIS.
- Contributing to HR project work.
What You Need to Succeed
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role with advisory exposure (1-2 years' minimum)
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice
- Confidence to guide managers through people processes
- A proactive, personable and down‑to‑earth approach
- Willingness to "muck in" and support at all levels
- Keen to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities
- Ability to build strong relationships and fit well within a close‑knit team
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, multitask and manage your own workload
- Ideally, local to Chadderton for office‑based work.
Benefits
- Competitive Salary
- Excellent learning opportunity direct from an experienced HR Manager willing to develop this role.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Pension scheme (5% employee, 3% employer).
- Free onsite parking.
- Death in Service.
- EAP programme including remote GP access and counselling.
