Working hours: 12 hours per weekInterview Date: To be confirmedThe Salvation Army at Atherton is looking for a Caretaker who will be responsible for the care, maintenance and cleaning our busy church building.Key ResponsibilitiesCare and maintenance of the inside and outside of the building.Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, lighting, heating and ventilation to the required standard.To unlock and lock the building when required and act as key holder when required.Move Chairs/tables/equipment as required to fulfil cleaning requirements.Maintain records to ensure health and safety compliance.Small maintenance and admin jobs, liaising with contractors as necessary.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrateAwareness of health and safety regulations.Experience of cleaning in a professional environment with knowledge of the proper use of cleaning equipment.Basic standard of literacy, numeracy and IT skills (e.g email and on-line ordering)Practical skills for operating a building including the ability to meet the physical demands of the role and basic maintenance skills.Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, including lone working as required.Good communication skills with an ability to engage with different groups of people.Ability to be flexible with working hours if required.In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UKFor details of how to prove your right to work in the UK please click here and please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship.
