The Role

This is a full-time opportunity for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a forward-thinking department starting at the end of March. Requirements

  • QTS/QTLS: Valid Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with current GCSE exam board specifications.
  • Right to Work: Valid documentation to work in the UK.
  • DBS: An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (on the update service) or willingness to apply for it.

  • Subject Mastery: An expert-level understanding of the secondary mathematics curriculum.

  • Data Fluency: Using assessment data to bridge gaps in student knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning: Designing schemes of work that challenge and inspire.
  • Instruction: Delivering 18-20 hours of high-quality teaching per week.
  • Assessment: Regular marking and constructive feedback in line with school policy.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitoring and reporting on student achievement levels.
  • Exam Prep: Equipping Year 11 students with the tools needed for GCSE success.
  • Form Tutoring: Taking responsibility for the pastoral care of a designated group.
  • Parental Engagement: Attending parent's evenings and providing progress updates.
  • CPD: Participating in ongoing professional development and staff meetings.
  • Inclusion: Differentiating work to support SEND and EAL learners.
  • Curriculum Development: Contributing fresh ideas to the Maths department resources.
