- Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities
- Assist in the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and nurturing learning environment
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, attendance, and any relevant medical or behavioural information
- Contribute to the overall development and improvement of the school's SEN provision
- Relevant experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar SEN support role
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the holistic development of students with special educational needs
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse and changing needs of the students
- Proficient in the use of technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Valid Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undergo the necessary checks
