Key Responsibilities of the CNC Miller:

• Reading engineering drawings, blueprints and process sheets
• Setting up and operating multi-axis CNC milling equipment
• Selecting tooling, calculating feeds & speeds and machining a variety of metals including steel, copper, brass, aluminium and bronze
• Downloading programs from DNC systems and editing/writing CNC programs where needed
• Applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce setup time and boost throughput
• Performing precision inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards
• Completing finishing tasks including polishing, filing, blending and assembling components
• Preparing finished parts for shipment (cleaning, oiling, wrapping, boxing)

What You’ll Bring:

• Time-served apprenticeship or SVQ/NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years’ CNC machining experience in a lean manufacturing environment
• Strong milling experience on multi-axis machines or experience with rotary table grinders, CNC table grinders, or 5-axis CNC grinders
• Ability to work with control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain or Haas
• Confidence holding ultra-tight tolerances (<0.0025mm)
• Skilled with precision inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges)
• Background in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar industries (ideal)
