Summary

Job Overview
-Assist the Shift Manager on all works relating to Operational matters, Regulatory and Statutory compliance. Ensure that you work to GSK Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety procedure, and the Company IMS as it applies to the Contract.

-Ensure maximum availability of electrical engineering equipment, utilizing safe, efficient, planned maintenance service and fault resolution.

-Provide comprehensive technical support for project, commissioning, and hand-over work. Liaise with the users and planning department to adjust schedules in line with company GxP guidelines and KPI's.

-Communicate with the user and the Engineering department of progress to date and advice on any delays to maintenance schedules or processing plans in a prompt and professional manner.



Main Duties

-All duties and tasks undertaken are to be carried out to established GxP standards.

-Be fully aware of Service Level Agreements to ensure its requirements are met.

-To provide information to support client QI processes where required. 

-To carry out the duties expected of an electrical technician.

-To take the lead in specific jobs and to direct other craftsperson's, technicians or contractors who may be in assistance.

-To investigate, diagnose and rectify faults to a proven level of competency.

-Carry out isolations to Company standards to enable the safe disconnection of electrical and mechanical equipment.

-To check, test, set and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment to the levels to their proven competence.

-To operate and monitor plant items and services and to maintain such systems

-To carry out their duties in compliance with GSK, Mitie UK procedures and their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

-To record in writing or by the use of computers, various information such as work done, time taken, material used etc, in the appropriate equipment logbook or asset history file in accordance with GxP record retention where required.

-To issue and receive Permits-to-Work and related certificates.

-To maintain cGxP standards with regards to cleanliness in work areas and of plant and equipment where required.

-To carry out various tasks on BMS to their personal competency.

-To be involved in special project teams which could involve cross site working and assist with other areas where required.

-To liaise with and assist the Electrical Supervisor in the generation and reviewing of assets/PPM's and for the prioritising of the day-to-day work, i.e. PPM's and SSR's to ensure compliance with SOP's and SLA's.

-Ensure the PPE mandate is always adhered to.

-To attend technical seminars and training courses as appropriate.

-Completion and closure of all EWP's relating to any electrical activities.

-To identify spares requirements for the performance of the maintenance tasks. To organise for their procurement and manage the resulting stocks of spares.

-Ensure all site-specific procedures and the MITIE QMS is always followed.

-Prompt and correct documentation of incidents.

-Ensure that work orders are correctly filled in with asset details, materials used, and time spent on the task.

-To ensure that communications are maintained between the Engineering Manager & client relating to the progress of work orders.

-To assess Health hand Safety requirements of tasks and to arrange for all necessary Safety Permits, Method Statements and Risk Assessments to be raised, liaising with Authorised Persons as necessary and monitor to ensure the task is completed in a safe manner.

-To investigate and report on all accidents involving Mitie staff and take appropriate action.

-To assist In the planning and make appropriate arrangements for shut down maintenance and projects

What we are looking for
-Qualified Electrical certification

-City & Guilds 2382-10

-IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition

-Ability to communicate at all levels both verbal and written, also note taking.

-Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivated.

-Team worker and flexibility within the contracted hours.

-Computer literate

-Strong team player and a 'can do' attitude.

-Intuitive and proactive nature.

-High moral standards with absolute integrity.

-Comply with company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness and localised fire regulation procedure.

-Compliance and EHS Standards are always met
