Millfield School is looking for an organised, practical and people-focused Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor to support the delivery of a high quality housekeeping service across our campus.

In this hands on role, you’ll help train and support our Housekeeping Team, assist with daily operations, and step in to cover supervisory duties when needed. You’ll play an important part in ensuring our facilities are well presented and our staff feel confident, equipped and welcomed into their roles.

What you’ll do
• Support with training, induction and ongoing development of housekeeping colleagues.
• Coach and guide the team to maintain consistent high standards.
• Assist supervisors with operational tasks such as audits, room checks and coordinating supplies.
• Work flexibly across all school sites, providing supervisory cover during staff absence.
• Help ensure safe working practices and a positive, supportive environment.

What we’re looking for
• Willingness to develop skills with the option to work towards a Level 3 NVQ in Hospitality Supervision if required (funded by the school).
• Experience in a supervisory or team-leading role within cleaning, hospitality or facilities.
• Strong communication skills and a supportive leadership style.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
• A hands on, flexible attitude and willingness to help where needed.
• Full UK driving licence.

Hours of Work & Salary
• 52 weeks per year, 35 hours per week
• Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (1 hour lunch)
• Flexibility required: You may need to cover Cleaning Supervisors' shifts:
o 12:00pm–5:00pm, or
o 5:00am–11:00am (Monday–Friday)
• Occasional weekend work may be required (Saturday or Sunday). If weekend hours are in addition to your weekly hours, time off in lieu will be provided.
• Salary: £23,199 per annum
