Waking Night Children’s Support Worker (Home-Based Care)

We are looking to recruit caring and dependable individuals to join a home care team supporting a 6-year-old boy with complex medical and care needs. These waking night roles involve providing dedicated one-to-one support within the child’s family home, helping ensure his comfort, safety and wellbeing overnight.

This young boy is extremely sociable and has a bright and happy personality. He enjoys music, sensory activities, movement-based play and time outdoors. Although he does not use verbal communication, he successfully interacts using eye-gaze technology and forms strong connections with those around him.

He lives with his parents and sibling in a warm and welcoming family environment which operates a strict non-smoking policy. The family maintains a positive working relationship with the support team and values consistency and trust within care provision.

About the Child’s Needs:

The child has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, epilepsy and dyskinesia. He is a wheelchair user and receives a blended diet through gastrostomy feeding. He requires full assistance from carers for his clinical, personal care and day-to-day living requirements.

Support workers play an important role in assisting with rehabilitation programmes designed by therapists and healthcare professionals, as well as helping maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
