Hays Education are working with a warm, community focused primary school in the Dudley area who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their team after the Easter break. This is a full‑time role, Monday to Friday, continuing through to the end of the academic year.


About the School

The school is well established within the local community and is known for its supportive leadership team, friendly staff and inclusive ethos. They place a strong emphasis on high quality teaching and early literacy development, with phonics being a key focus across Key Stage 1. You'll be joining a team that values collaboration, professional development and ensuring the best outcomes for every child.


Your New Role

As the Year 2 class teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons aligned to the KS1 curriculum
  • Using strong phonics knowledge to support early reading and writing
  • Making use of allocated PPA time, which will be fully covered
  • Contributing to assessments and supporting pupils to meet their end‑of‑year expectations
  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive
  • Attending school meetings, including team meetings, reviews and parents' evenings
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within KS1, ideally Year 2
  • Strong phonics knowledge
  • Ability to plan for a range of learning needs
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A passion for supporting children at a crucial stage in their primary education
