DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential
I am currently supporting a school in Newcastle who is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands‑on School Caretaker to support a busy educational setting.
This is a full‑time temporary role, expected to last for approximately 4 weeks, with the potential for extension depending on school needs
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school site daily
- General maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the building and grounds
- Ensuring classrooms, corridors, and communal areas remain safe and tidy
- Supporting with health & safety checks and compliance tasks
- Liaising with staff, contractors, and external services
- Responding to urgent maintenance issues as they arise
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - essential
- Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities role is desirable
- Strong practical skills and the ability to work independently
- Good communication and organisational abilities
- A positive, can‑do attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe school environment
