Shape the Future: SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you looking for a career that offers more than just a paycheck? We are seeking purpose-driven individuals to join our brand-new SEND Secondary School in Chaldon, Surrey. Having opened its doors in September 2025, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a founding team dedicated to supporting students aged 11-16.
Our students require specialised support with social communication and emotional regulation, typically associated with Autism. If you are empathetic, resilient, and ready to launch a career in special education, we want to hear from you.
The Package-
Annual Salary: £24,139.67 - £25,819.26 (Actual, based on experience).
-
Sign-on Bonus: £1,000 Welcome Bonus*.
-
Work-Life Balance: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only.
-
The Schedule: 8:15 AM start; finishes vary (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM).
-
Stability: Permanent contract with a growing educational group.
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you aren't just "helping out"-you are a vital part of a multi-disciplinary team. Your mission is to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their potential in a safe, caring environment
Your core responsibilities will include:
-
Mentorship & Learning: Delivering tailored activities that reinforce key concepts under teacher guidance.
-
Emotional Support: Adapting your responses to help students manage their behaviour and concentration levels.
-
Advocacy: Taking a lead role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every pupil.
-
Holistic Growth: Promoting independence and supporting the "Waking Day Curriculum" to help students thrive beyond the classroom.
Whether you come from a background in care, youth work, or are a recent graduate, we value your transferable skills and "can-do" mindset.
-
Educated & Eager: You hold GCSE Maths and English (Level 2). A Level 2 award in Supporting Teaching and Learning is great, but we will support you to work toward one if you don't have it yet.
-
Resilient & Active: You are prepared for the physical demands of a busy school day.
-
Tech Savvy: You possess competent ICT skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.
-
Values-Driven: You believe in equality, diversity, and putting the individual needs of the child first.
This isn't just a job; it's a professional pathway. You will receive regular training, supervision, and appraisal to help you grow within the organisation. You'll work in a supportive environment where your "outside the box" thinking is celebrated.
