We are seeking a high-calibre Science Teacher with a proven track record in special education to join our founding team in Chaldon, Surrey. This is not just a teaching post; it is an invitation to help establish the pedagogical roots of a brand-new school that opened in September 2025. If you have deep expertise in autism and a passion for making the Science curriculum accessible to those with complex needs, we want to hear from you.
The Package-
Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 (M1 - UPS1 Fringe)

Hours: 40 hours per week (Early 4:00 PM finish on Fridays)

Founding Influence: Contribute directly to the development of the Science curriculum and school-wide self-evaluation from day one.

Specialist Environment: Work in a school specifically designed for learners (Ages 11-16) with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs.

Multi-Disciplinary Power: Collaborate daily with a supernumerary intervention team to ensure holistic progress for every student.

Leadership Pathway: Provide subject leadership and professional support to other teachers and support staff.

Advanced Differentiation: Deliver high-quality Science teaching tailored to pupils with autism and multiple learning difficulties.

Strategic Planning: Maintain and implement short, medium, and long-term plans that prioritise individual EHCP outcomes.

Expert Advocacy: Lead and contribute to the review of EHCPs, PEPs, and LAC reviews with a focus on optimised learning targets.

Behavioural Excellence: Utilise non-confrontational strategies and professional conduct to manage challenging behaviours within a supportive framework.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.

SEND Expertise: Significant experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with autism and complex needs.

Clinical Insight: Knowledge of associated co-morbid conditions and how they affect the learning process.

Resilience & Reflection: The ability to remain calm and reflective in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Mobility: A driving license is highly desirable due to our rural location and potential travel to our satellite site in Caterham.
