Ambulift / Van Driver vacancies at London Luton Airport!
Our client, a leader in passenger support services is currently recruiting for an Ambulift / Van Driver to join its growing team. Working within one the largest international airports in the UK, this role offers candidates the opportunity to learn new skills and offer an exceptional level of customer service to passengers whether its their first flight or their 100th!
Due to the nature of this role, all applicants must have a valid Category B Driving Licence, all further training will be provided.
Pay Rates
- £16.14 per hour for all hours worked
Working Hours
- 6 hour shifts, with optional overtime regularly available
- 4 on 4 off shift pattern
- All candidates must be flexible to work between 4am - Midnight

Main Duties & Responsibilities
As an Ambulift / Van Driver within the PRM Team (Passengers with Reduced Mobility), successful candidates will be responsible for safely and comfortably escorting passengers through London Luton Airport and helping them to board / disembark their flight. With a focus at all times on customer service and a professional attitude this is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills & work in a fast paced operation
Your daily roles can include:
- Completing the Daily Equipment Check Sheet
- Deliver or collect the Special Assistance passengers at the aircraft door and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.
- Carry out Customer Car Agent duties as directed by Movement Control. Escorting arriving and departing special assistance passengers
- Providing assistance with the baggage
- Ensure that Movement Control is updated on progress by use of IT handsets.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed legibly and submitted in a timely manner.
About you
Successful applicants will have a background in a customer facing role & will hold a valid driving licence with previous commercial driving experience.
- A valid Category B Driving Licence & the confidence to drive larger vehicles
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- A polite and professional approach.
- The ability to deal tactfully with upset or angry passengers.
