Location: Clifton College, 32 College Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 3JH

Salary: £13.06 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: 5 out of 7 days in a week (Predominantly Mon-Fri) 07:00 - 15:30

As a Production ChefwithSodexoatClifton College, you’ll be the driving force behind high‑quality meal preparation, ensuring every dish leaving the kitchen is consistent, delicious, and crafted to the highest standards. You’ll coordinate production schedules, maintain food safety excellence, and support seamless kitchen operations—all while contributing to a positive, motivated team environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen, following all Health & Safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Prepare high‑quality food to company and contract specifications, keeping accurate HACCP records.
  • Manage ingredients responsibly, ensuring correct storage and temperature control.
  • Work closely with senior chefs to support daily production and maintain food quality.
  • Help receive and check deliveries when required.
  • Keep all work areas clean, tidy and well‑organised at all times.
  • Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional standards.
  • Communicate production updates and wastage information clearly.
  • Take part in training and team meetings to support your development.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Report any safety issues, accidents or irregularities immediately.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to training.
What You Bring:

Essential:

  • Prior staff supervision or line management experience

  • Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient preparation

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them

  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment

  • Positive leadership, professionalism, and a passion for food

  • Hold basic food handling certifications, including:

    • NVQ Level 2

    • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate

  • At least one year of hands-on cooking experience (Training in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety provided)
