Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) to work as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist on a secondment or fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The role is based within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team at Charnley Fold in Bamber Bridge.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking Occupational Therapist with an interest working with older adults who wants to expand their clinical skills within mental health. You will have excellent communication skills and can demonstrate sound clinical assessment skills with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
Charnley Fold is a supportive and friendly place to work. You will have the opportunity to further develop and enhance your skills and will be expected to provide professional supervision for our Band 5 and Band 4 Occupational Therapy staff. You will receive professional supervision from a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist. There are plenty of opportunities for professional development including evidence based practice forums, Occupational Therapy best practice forums, continuing professional development training sessions, and an AHP research forum. We highly value staff health and wellbeing and provide opportunities for one to one and group time within work as well as regular social meet ups.
LSCFT is an exciting place to be an Occupational Therapist, and be highly valued in our Trust’s approach to multidisciplinary care. We are committed to delivering excellent services, putting occupation at the centre of our work and championing people’s rights for occupational needs to be recognised and addressed. We are committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process that values diversity and promotes equality.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure and the successful applicant will be required to pay for their DBS check.

We actively challenge discrimination and welcome applications from all, regardless of age, disability (including those with experience of accessing or caring for someone who has accessed mental health or learning disability services), ethnicity, gender, religion, belief, or sexual orientation.
Our aim is to reflect the communities we serve, so we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups. If you’d like to discuss your application, please ask.
We also welcome individuals with lived experience relevant to the role or service area, as your insight brings authenticity to our services.
LSCFT support flexible working, we believe that a positive work/life balance benefits NHS employees through improved health and wellbeing. We would consider working patterns such as term time, part time, compressed hours and flexi-time.
