We are seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse with a minimum of one year’s post-qualification experience to join our Children’s Emergency Department team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to develop their skills within a dynamic and fast-paced emergency care environment.

This post is advertised as part-time at 31 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours in the future.

As a Band 5 Registered Nurse in ChED, you will support the care of children presenting with a broad range of conditions — from minor injuries to critically unwell patients requiring treatment in the resuscitation bay. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the department runs smoothly, delivering timely, safe, and compassionate care while maintaining a calm and professional approach in a high-pressure setting.

We offer support and additional training in emergency department–specific skills, including minor injury assessment and management, cannulation, and access to advanced life support courses to further enhance your clinical development.

• To promptly and effectively communicate relevant changes in patient status to the multi-disciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, significant others, the multi-disciplinary team and support services.
