Job Summary: To provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership to ensure the smooth, efficient, and profitable running of the practice, while maintaining high standards of patient care and compliance with NHS and regulatory requirements. We are looking for someone who isconfident, assertive and resilient, diplomatic, flexible and co-operative, motivated and proactive, have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to use own initiative and judgement, be a forward thinker with a solution focused approach, have high levels of integrity and loyalty, be able to work under pressure, be able to drive and deliver change effectively, be able to motivate teams, enhance morale and maintain a positive working environment, including team building. The Business Manager will need to be flexible to work outside of core office hours where necessary, maintain confidentiality at all times, and hold a full clean UK driving licence. The Business Manager will be responsible for: Strategic Leadership Develop and implement strong and sustainable Business plans aligned with Practice goals and NHS priorities. Identify opportunities for NHS service improvement, growth, and innovation. Identify opportunities for Private healthcare services. Lead and support change management initiatives to adapt to evolving healthcare demands. Financial & Resource Management Develop and oversee Practice and Service budgets, financial forecasting, maximising income and minimising costs. Manage income streams, including NHS contracts, enhanced services, and private work. Ensure accurate payroll, supplier payments, and financial reporting. Manage practice and staff budgets and seek to maximise practice income. Analyse LES, DES, ICB, and other NHS or Public Health funded initiatives. Operational Management Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual obligations, and data protection laws. Oversee IT systems, facilities, and procurement. Maintain robust policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks. Oversee Practice premises, seeking to improve / increase capacity and usage with a view to alternative / new premises development. People Management Lead, motivate, and develop administrative and support teams. Manage recruitment, training, appraisals, and HR processes. Work with the Clinical Director to lead, motivate and develop the clinical team Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture. Patient Services & Engagement Monitor and improve patient access, satisfaction, and service quality. Oversee the handling of complaints and feedback positively and constructively. Liaise with Patient Participation Groups and community stakeholders In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Business Manager may be requested to: Deputise for the directors at internal and external meetings Act as the primary point of contact for NHS(E), ICB, community services, suppliers and other external stakeholders
